The Walkertown Town Council made plans and discussed a number of issues at a Workshop Meeting on Jan. 12 at the Booe House.
The first item on the agenda was a council meeting facility and building projects update.
Jeff Johnson, an architect for Allie Williams Contracting in King, said the 3,744 square foot community meeting facility for Walkertown will be ready to be put up for bid by the end of March. The Town Council agreed that an emergency generator capable of powering the entire facility should be added. The primary purpose for the community meeting facility will be for conducting Town Council and Planning Board meetings.
Walkertown Town Manager Scott Snow said a larger space for town meetings is long overdue.
