Forsyth County health care providers have announced their roll outs of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 following approval of the vaccine by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children 5-11 is administered as a two-dose series, three weeks apart. According to medical experts, the shot is a lower dose and a different formulation than that used for individuals 12-years and older.
