ScottKernersville – Joseph Michael “Bubba” Scott, 67, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Michael was born in Onslow County, NC on July 20, 1948. He was a retired Operations Manager for a local freight company, and was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church. He loved fishing at the beach, music, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who had a caring, loving, warm spirit, and he will be forever missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents Alton and Charlotte Scott, Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife – Ellen Bushby Scott; and three brothers – Thomas Scott, Andy Scott, and John Scott.
Surviving are his sons – Peter Scott (Karen) of Kernersville and Jason Scott (Heather) of Greensboro; his grandchildren – Jacob E. Scott, Jake W. Scott, Julia R. Scott, Chris J. Vestal, Ryan C. Vestal, and Sam G. Vestal; and a sister – Nancy Scott.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2016 at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor David Rorie officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ‘Helping Hands’, c/o Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, 1510 Bunker Hill-Sandy Ridge Road, Kernersville, NC 27284 or Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1131 Harding Place, Charlotte, NC 28204.
