The community is saddened after the passing of Francis Eugene “Gene” Stafford on Tuesday, January 12 after a short illness. Born in 1943, Gene was 78.
A genuine character, Gene was a man of many talents and was well known in the community as the founder of the annual Colfax Persimmon Festival he held at the Historic Stafford Farm since 2008 and for his love for photography, often photographing for Our State magazine and the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce.
