Officer of the Year

Firefighter A.J. Burton won the Colfax Fire Department (CFD) 2022 Officer of the Year Award, adding to his multiple life saving awards he has received during his time at various fire departments.
Burton started his career in Davie County in 1999 and worked as a volunteer at the fire department for 12-15 years.
In 2019, he started working full-time as a captain at Colfax. His experience also included eight years of service at the 911 center.
Burton said he knew he wanted to be a firefighter from a young age.
