Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) will end COVID-19 symptom screenings when students, adults, and any visitors enter district buildings effective Monday, May 3.
According to WS/FCS district officials, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control no longer recommend or require the screening, which includes a temperature check. Guidance from state and federal agencies now says symptom screening is no longer seen as an effective way to reduce spread.
