Kernersville – Wilson N. Long, 77, entered his heavenly home on December 13th, 2018 sur-rounded by his family. He was born August 26, 1941 to John and Margie Smith Long. Wilson was a graduate of Robert B. Glenn High School class of 1959. He was employed with RJR in Winston-Salem for 10 years before venturing out on his own raising tobacco along with owning and operating Triad Paving Company, Inc. A severe accident in 1991 required his retirement yet he still loved the outdoors; hunting; fishing; horseback riding and enjoying his children, grand-children and great grandchildren. When health permitted, he attended Sedge Garden Chapel in Kernersville, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Long Alden; paternal grandparents I.D. and Alma Nading Long; maternal grandparents, Jay Van and Julia Wilson Smith.
Surviving is his loving wife, Faydene Williard Long of the home. Sons, David (Missy) of Florida, and Mike Long of the home. Grandchildren Ashley Paschal (Liz) of Summerfield, Laura Easter (Luke) of Kernersville, Lindsey Bantum (Josh) of Florida, Michael and John Long of Kerners-ville, and Sloan and Tyler Chreitzberg of Florida. Great grandchildren, Steele, Knox, Weston, Conner, Wyatt and Westley (arriving soon). Extended family Abi Garwood, Julia and Harrison Outlaw, Ashley Powers and Rachel Beamon. Wilson deeply loved his family and truly enjoyed their visits and time spent with them. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Frankie, Noella and Hospice of the Piedmont (High Point) for their loving and tender care over the last several weeks.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, December 22nd at Hayworth-Miller Kern-ersville Chapel, 141 Smith Edwards Road, Kernersville, N.C. The family will receive friends fol-lowing the service at the funeral home. Memorials made be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N. C. 27262.
