Kernersville – Mrs. Barbara Griffin Idol, age 87, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at her home. She was born May 14, 1928 to the late Gertie Grubbs Griffin and John Griffin. She was a charter member of Kernersville Church of Christ. Barbara loved her family and church family dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Idol, and her son, John Idol, three sisters, Edna James, Alma Apple, and Ruby Redmond, and her brother, Jim Griffin.
Surviving are; one daughter, Patsy Davis and husband Gurney, a brother, Harvey Griffin, two sisters, Bertha Westmoreland, and Mary Ruth Idol, one granddaughter, Jaime Casstevens and husband Allen, one great granddaughter, Hailey Casstevens, and many special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Kernersville Church of Christ with Rev. Larry Hatfield. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kate B.
