Mr. Lester Lee Houser, age 82, a resident of Cedar Trail Thomasville passed away Wed. Aug. 26, 2015 in Rowan Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1933 in Cleveland Co. NC son of the late Lawson Lee Houser and Lillian Whitesides Houser. Mr. Houser was a meat cutter and worked with Valspar Paint Co. Mr. Houser served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alma Deaton and two brothers, Gene Houser and Johnny Houser. He was married May 4, 1952 to Truthenia Herron Houser who preceded him in death July 12, 2014,
Surviving are four daughters, Diane McCurry and husband Tom of the home, Vickie Kennedy of the home, Debbie Venable and husband Larry of Thomasville and Bobbie Jolly and husband Floyd of Archdale; one son, Lee Houser and wife Nicole of Kernersville; one sister, Cornelia Buchanan of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Ervin Houser and wife Pat of Shelby, NC and Jimmy Houser and wife Marlene of Kings Mountain; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 12:00 NOON in Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church in High Point, NC with Rev. Matt Mitchell officiating. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC. The family will greet friends Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC 27292.
