Help Madeline get a Service Dog

Madeline Yokley was only 12 when she had her first seizure. She is now 18 and during that time, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME).
“We had all kinds of tests done, couldn’t catch them when they were doing brain waves tests; we went in for EEGs and they finally diagnosed her with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy,” said Susan Detter, Yokley’s mother.
Yokley is a senior at Glenn High School; however, she has not been able to attend school since October 2022 due to her seizures as well as her constantly changing medications. Most medications that she is taking are causing her to have side effects, such as excessive sleeping. The family has taken the first step in the process by purchasing a Labrador Retriever puppy on Jan. 31. According to Yokley, a Labrador Retriever is one of the best epilepsy service dogs. The puppy is only a few weeks old and they named her Mac. Mac will train every step of the way on her journey to becoming a service animal. To help raise funds for her service dog and her training, lookup Help Madeline get a Service Dog on GoFundMe. Since Jan. 18, they have raised $1,465 with a goal of $15,000.
