Handgun found at Parkland

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) used Facebook Wednesday afternoon to announce that a handgun had been confiscated at Parkland High School earlier in the day.
The 4:45 p.m. post prompted Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) Board of Education Member Dana Caudill Jones to question why she was finding out the information on social media.
Jones’ comment stated, “Sometimes I find out information about (our) schools on FB?”
According to the post from the FCSO, “Today, one of our School Resource Officers located a handgun on the Parkland High School campus. It was a community member that alerted us to the possibility of this particular weapon on campus today, and for that, we are grateful.” For more, see the Thursday, September 9, 2021 editon.
