Fairness in Women’s Sports Act

Republicans in the North Carolina Senate have submitted bills that would require high school and middle school athletes in North Carolina to play on the teams of their birth gender if the bill becomes law.
Sen. Joyce Krawiec (R-Forsyth, Davie) is a primary sponsor of Senate Bill 631 (SB 631). The bill filed on Wednesday is titled “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” and it focuses entirely on the transgender athlete issue. For more, see the Tuesday, April 11, 2023 edition.
