Honoring veterans

A special Veterans Day ceremony at the Carolina Field of Honor on Friday, Nov. 11 will feature decorated Army Lieutenant General Walter F. Ulmer, Jr., who served in Korea and Vietnam.
Friday’s ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. The event, sponsored by the N.C. War Memorial Foundation, will also feature color guards, special music, the laying of the wreath, taps and other commemorative activities to honor the nation’s veterans, past and present, said organizers. They encourage the public to attend.
