Two armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery took place on Friday, May 27, according to the Kernersville (KPD) and Winston-Salem (WSPD) police departments.
According to the KPD, at 1:12 a.m. officers responded to Kangaroo Express, located at 2010 West Mountain St., in reference to a reported armed robbery. Police said a male subject entered the business and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect reportedly left with an undetermined amount of money.
The KPD said at 3:26 a.m. officers responded to Quality Mart, located at 101 Clayton Forest Rd., in reference to a reported armed robbery. Police said a mail subject entered the business and demanded money from the clerk, and left with an undetermined amount of money.
According to the WSPD, officers responded to Kangaroo Express, located at 4401 Kernersville Rd., at 2:49 a.m. in regard to an attempted armed robbery. Police said the clerk observed the suspect walking towards her while reaching for his waistband. The clerk reportedly locked herself inside the office area. The suspect left the area on foot. The suspect was described as 5’7”, medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a camouflage mask with eyeholes. The WSPD said the suspect in this incident matches the description of the armed robberies in Kernersville.
