Colfax – Bruce Alan Young died April 18, 2016 at Kernersville Medical Center. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 7:00PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery.
Bruce was a native of Oak Ridge, NC. He was a 1974 graduate of Northwest Guilford High School. Bruce was self-employed with Safeway Tank Disposal. He enjoyed playing softball and baseball in his youth and later enjoyed drag racing and horseback riding. Other interests included playing guitar, which he taught himself.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 28 years Sharon Walker Young; daughter Hillary Young; son Clayton Young; parents Frances Kiger Young and Carl Young of Oak Ridge; sister Jill Reinhardt and husband Charles; brother Kelly Young and wife Nancy; grandmother Annie Mae Rierson Young; mother-in-law and father- in-law Ann and Ray Walker; special aunt Nancy Parrish; and furry companion Reba.
Memorial donations may be made in his honor to HD Reach, helping families with Huntington’s Disease, 1004 Dresser Ct., Suite 107, Raleigh, NC 27609.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00PM prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
