Whisenhunt running for re-election

Whisenhunt running for re-election

Forsyth County Commissioner Gloria Whisenhunt has been a county commissioner since 1996 and wants to continue to serve the county and the local area in one of three District B seats.
The incumbents in the 2024 election are Whisenhunt, a Republican, and Republicans Richard Linville and Dave Plyler. Former Kernersville resident, Terri Mrazek, who now lives in Belews Creek, Winston-Salem’s Gray Wilson and Ralf Walters are running for the District B seats. The Democratic candidates are Curtis Fentress, Kendall Fields, Marsie West and Valerie Brockenbrough. Whisenhunt, Plyler and Linville have held these three seats for a long time.
Whisenhunt is just as passionate about continuing to serve the county as she was when she first started. Her interest in the school system motivated her to run for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School Board and later motivated her to run for county commissioner. She was on the school board from 1990-96 and served as vice chair. With the county commissioners, she was the chairman for four years and is currently the vice chair.
