Colfax- Mrs. Margaret Lee Morgan Westmoreland, 88, of Colfax, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 07, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living. She was born on March 7, 1928 in Guilford County, NC to Gerstle Everette and Fannie Mae Morgan. Margaret retired as a secretary from Sears after 42 years of loyal service. She also worked at Walmart where she retired after 15 years of service. Margaret loved gardening, camping, and going to the beach. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Westmoreland, Sr. She is survived by one son, James T. Westmoreland, Jr. of Greensboro; two daughters, Nancy W. Sipe (Joe) of Colfax and Amy W. Bolden (Roger) of Jacksonville, FL.; and five grandchildren, Timmy Westmoreland, Wendy Baldwin, Michael Sipe, Forrest Hill, and Robert Bolden; three great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Margaret will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Drew Hellams and Rev. Tony Dowdy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church and Brookdale Senior Living.
