William H. “Bill” Turner III, 55, passed away on Saturday August 13, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services celebrating his life will be 11:00AM Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Burial will immediately follow the service at Mt. Gur Cemetery.
Bill is survived by his parents Judy and Harold Turner, Jr.; fiancée Mandy Gillikin; son William H. Turner IV; granddaughter Kendall Turner; brother Michael Turner and wife Glenda; nephews Tom Turner, and Brandon Turner.
Bill was born in Ft Pierce, Florida on February 9, 1961. He graduated from Okeechobee High School in class of 1980. He then moved to North Carolina where he began his career with Wilson Art. In 1989 he became the proud father of his only son William H. Turner, IV. In 2010 Mandy Gillikin came into his life. She quickly became his best friend and companion. They became engaged in 2014. Bill was never one to worry with counting each day of his life. He always tried to make each and every day count. Even when he was diagnosed with cancer, he continued to make each day count, not dwelling on the battle that lay ahead. In 2014 he became the proud grandfather of Kendall Turner who brought so much joy into his life.
Bill loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
