Joyce Sapp Burton Smith, 72, died Monday, November 2, 2015 in Pinellas Park, FL, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Smith was born in Newport News, VA, Nov. 25, 1942 to Richard Joshua and Ottie May Shaver Sapp. Along with Ted, she rescued animals for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Jimmy Burton and Ted I. Smith. Surviving are two sons: Richard Allen Burton and Jeffrey Lee Burton; four grandchildren: Joshua Lee Burton, Jessi Lee Burton, Jacob Clay Burton, and Jeremy Andrew Nunn; three sisters, Pam (Allen) Angell, Debbie (Paul) Hartman, Robin (John) Kincaid and one brother: Richard David Sapp.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Salem Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers.
