Shooting at Wal-mart

On Monday night, October 29 at 11:22 p.m. a Kernersville Police Department (KPD) officer driving through the Wal-mart parking lot on South Main Street was flagged down by employees and told there was a man inside the store firing a gun, according to a KPD press release. KPD officers evacuated the store and conducted a cursory search for victims and suspects, but none were found. Further investigation led detectives to 4890 Old Hollow Rd. where they located the alleged suspect, Justin Ross Murphy, 20 years-old. Murphy was taken into custody and charged with alleged Shooting Into an Occupied Property, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Going Armed to the Terror of the Public and Malicious Injury to Property. He was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $4,000 secured bond.
