Jerry Wilson Shields, 77, died November 27, 2017.
Private graveside funeral services were held Wednesday at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Ceme-tery in Kernersville.
Jerry was born to the late Bertha Preston and Dandy Shields on September 21, 1940 in Forsyth County.
Jerry was the kindest man that has ever walked the face of the earth. He strived to only help people unconditionally. He was a stronger man in his last days than I will ever be.
I will always love you Dad.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Tod Wayne Shields and wife Jennifer Smith Shields; grandchildren, Brandon Tod Shields and Brantley Preston Shields and wife Heather Ann Shields; great-granddaughters, Alina Raine Shields and Sloane Waylyn Shields; and ex-wife Dorothy Chandler. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dorothy for her assis-tance with caring for Jerry during the last months.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer Research.
