Kernersville – Rachel Elizabeth Perdue Robertson, 87, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2016 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rachel was born on July 25, 1928 in Forsyth County to Archie Boyd and Dovie Stack Perdue. She was a lifelong member of Kernersville Friends Meeting, and was active with the Women of the Church and Meals On Wheels. She worked at the Sears Roebuck Distribution Center in Greensboro for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bernard Robertson; two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherri Vincent (Sheldon) of Walkertown and Gayle May (Richard) of Winston Salem; two sons, Tim Robertson of Kernersville and Dan Robertson (Kenette) of Charlotte; ten grandchildren, Matthew Robertson (Shana) of Charlotte, Emily B. Parsons (Sam) of Greenville, SC, Joshua G. Robertson (Brooke) of Lewisville, April E. Robertson of Kernersville, Jennifer S. Belton of Lewisville, Phillip R. May (Cheyenne) of Walkertown, Christopher W. May (Amber) of Winston-Salem, Rachel A. May of Kernersville, Caroline D. Eanes (Mark) of Summerville, SC, and Ashley R. Hege (Josh) of Walkertown; and 16 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Junior Stevens. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
