Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation have begun the process of removing more than a dozen trees deemed hazardous along Salisbury Street in Kernersville’s historic district. On Wednesday, workers could be seen with chainsaws in hand cutting limbs from the first of 16 trees which line the roadway along Salisbury Street in between South Main Street and Pineview Drive. Work to remove the trees is scheduled to continue today and tomorrow, with the road closed to traffic from 9 a. m. to 4 p.m. each day. For more, see the Thursday, November 29 edition.
