Park funds

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has approved the appropriation of $640,000 in grant funding to acquire the proposed Belews Lake Park Property.
Christopher Ong briefed commissioners on the funding appropriation last week.
Ong noted that commissioners had given staff permission in December 2019 to submit an application to the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund – now the North Carolina Land and Water Fund (NCLWF) – to accept a $640,000 grant to acquire the 216-acre tract of land at Belews Lake from Duke Energy Carolinas.
