When students returned to school in August, some questioned the new Common Core curriculum and how it would change teachers’ instruction style.
Now, the state of N.C. has designed a new style of testing in conjunction with the Race to the Top initiative that measures the rate of student learning and uses that information to determine the effectiveness of teachers. That includes 16 high school courses this January and an additional eight middle school subjects that will be graded at the end of the school year. For more, see the Thursday, Nov. 22 edition.
