Maurio

Kernersville – Theresa Josephine Orefice Maurio, 80, passed away Saturday November 19, 2016 at her home, with her two daughters by her side. She was born October 1, 1936 in Manhattan, New York to the late Joseph and Olga Mary Orefice.
Mrs. Maurio was a homemaker for most of her adult life, and was known as a caring, loving mother and grandmother, full of warmth and grace. She enjoyed crocheting and decorating for the holidays, and loved her cats. She had a big heart and a full zest for life, and was particularly known for her big, loving smile that would light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Peter Gallucci, and Aunt Marie Intorica.
Surviving are two daughters – Theresa Maurio (Frank Horney), and June Maurio; two sons – Louis Maurio III (Marianne), and Joseph Maurio; three grandchildren – Michaela, Derek, and Tyler Maurio; and a cousin – Donna Intorica.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel, with Rev. Mr. Tim Ritchey officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.
