Lawsuit

The Kernersville man arrested last spring in connection to the January 6 riot in the U.S. Capitol is one of numerous defendants named in a federal lawsuit filed by members of the Capitol police.
According to multiple national media outlets, seven U.S. Capitol police officers filed the lawsuit in federal district court in Washington, D.C. on Thursday accusing former President Donald Trump and others of being “directly responsible for the deadly invasion of the Capitol on Jan. 6,” reported an article on the CNBC website.
The same article reported that the officers are alleging that the defendants conspired to stop Congress from confirming President Joe Biden’s electoral victory “through the use of force, intimidation, and threats.”
Included by name among the two dozen people and far-right “violent extreme groups” named in the lawsuit is Charles J. Donohoe, 33, a Kernersville resident who was arrested by FBI agents last March. For more, see the Saturday/Sunday, August 28 & 29, 2021 edition.
