Land exchange approved

The Kernersville Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a land swap between the Town of Kernersville and Providence Baptist Church during the Board’s Wednesday, May 4 meeting that will see the longtime local church move from its current location on Nelson Street to one on West Mountain Street.
The proposal was not without opposition, with several residents who live in the Trillium neighborhood behind the new site speaking out against development on what has been a pair of undeveloped, wooded lots owned by the Town since the property was purchased for construction of Fire Station 43 at 2050 West Mountain Street.
