The Kernersville Board of Aldermen has approved a resolution authorizing acceptance of a grant award that will go toward equipment and training for the Kernersville Police Department (KPD).
Town Manager Curtis Swisher presented the resolution to the aldermen during the Board’s meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 8, noting that the Board approved applying for the grant “a month or so ago.”
According to Swisher, the KPD has received a $22,484 grant award from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Governor’s Crime Commission for equipment and training that is focused on officer safety. For more, see the Tuesday, February 15, 2022 edition.
