Kernersville- Mrs. Imogene Marie Bodenhamer Idol, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 02, 2018 at Hospice of High Point. She was born on August 22, 1931 in Forsyth County to Francis Early and Mabel Victoria Robbins Bodenhamer. Imogene was a faithful member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church and the Davis Sunday School Class. She worked for several years at Farmers Hardware. She enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa “Lisa” Cartner; sister Lowanna Bull and brother, Jimmie “Tom” Bodenhamer. She is survived by her loving husband, Wilbur James Idol; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Idol (wife, Donna) and Keith Yow (wife, Mary); one daughter, Martha Alley; six grandchildren, Chris Idol, Alan Idol (wife, Whitney), Ashley Colop, Jennifer Cartner, Dawn Ritter, and James Alley (wife, Jennifer); eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Harold “Bo” Bodenhamer (wife, Barbara); and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Imogene will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor David Rorie officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Bunker Hill Multi-Media Project, 1510 Bunker Hill-Sandy Ridge Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284 or Senior Services of Forsyth County, 2895 Shorefair Dr. NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
