Hosaflook

Kenneth Francis Hosaflook, 69, of Kernersville, NC passed away on June 16 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, Virginia. Ken was born on May 31, 1946 to the late Meryl Hammick and Addie Frances Loker Hosaflook. He graduated from Broadway High School, where he played football, ran track and participated in the band, in 1964. He attended Ferrum College on a football scholarship and graduated in 1966. After joining and serving in the Armed Forces for three years, he attended Iowa State and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Ken’s career in human resources, lasting 42 years, took him many places in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He loved all that the outdoors offered.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judith Faye Oakes Hosaflook, whom he met at Ferrum College. His daughter, Joette Frances Hosaflook Kivett and husband, Joseph Kenneth Kivett. His grandchildren, Chandler Exton Kivett and Shelby Ruth Kivett. All living in Kernersville, NC. His sister, Marlene Bertie Hosaflook Wine and husband, Roland N. Wine of Salem, Virginia. Sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nephew and his wife in Rocky Mount & Roanoke, Virginia. Niece, grandnephew and grandniece in Maidens, VA. His much loved cats, Snickers, Scooter and Bud.
Cremation services were entrusted to John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Salem, Virginia. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
