Sharon L. Hawkins, 67, of Kernersville, NC passed away April 4, 2017 at Arbor Ridge.
Sharon is survived by son Christopher Mandell of Tallahassee FL; daughter Heather and husband Ed Shirley of Kernersville NC; grandchildren Daniel, Emily, and Caleb Shirley and sister Pamela Ray of Simpsonville KY.
Ms. Hawkins is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Doris Zeillmann and sister Lynnette McGough.
Sharon was a native of Louisville, KY where she lived most of her life. She attended Seneca where she was the first majorette to twirl fire. Sharon earned her Masters of Mathematics from the University of Louisville. During her career as an actuary, she worked for Capitol Holding, Providian, and Aegon. She retired after teaching mathematics at the University of Louisville for over ten years. Sharon enjoyed reading a good book and spending time with her family.
