Kernersville – Billie Jean Sergent Greene, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born on December 7, 1947 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Linville and Norma Sergent. Billie had a big heart for animals and did everything in her power to help them. She loved shopping for her grandchildren and family. Billie was a faithful member of Triad Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was super organized with everything she did, enjoyed her time being involved with the Rotary Club, and loved plants and flowers. Having such a green thumb, she could make the desert bloom. Billie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all her family, who she so dearly loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ron Greene; five children, Delana Drye, Josh Brewer, Ronnie Greene, Jr., Malcom Greene, and Charlie Greene; one brother, Donnie Ray Sergent; one sister, Debbie Lynn Neal; seven grandchildren, Erica Taylor, Madison Honrine, Ryan Greene, Kyle Greene, Austin Greene, Zach Greene, and Trey Brewer; and one great-grandchild, Leo Greene.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, April 19, 2021 at Triad Baptist Church with Pastor Rob Decker, and Pastor Tim Gerber officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, Billie loved animals, so please help save them from cruelty.
