A father charged with accidentally shooting his three-year-old daughter in the leg while cleaning a weapon in 2015 was convicted in Forsyth Superior Court on Tuesday.
According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Stephen Ray Ivey, 31, of Sedge Meadow Drive in Winston-Salem, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of child abuse and another of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Ivey had originally faced a felony child abuse charge but that was reduced to a misdemeanor as part of the plea deal, the Journal reported.
