An election protest that has been appealed to the N.C. State Board of Elections will delay midterm election winners, including Forsyth County School Board members, county commissioners and Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough, Jr. from taking their oaths of office in early December.
No offices will be left vacant, which means officials who had chosen not to run for reelection, or those who lost their election, will remain in office until the issue is resolved. For more, see the Saturday/Sunday, December 3 & 4, 2022 edition.
