Education Grants

Each year, the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce raises money for the Education Grants for teachers in Kernersville’s schools. The Chamber receives support for the Education Grant Program through local businesses, as well as Eating for Education throughout the summer months, with participating restaurants giving a apportion of their proceeds from the day to the grant program. The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce’s Education Grant Program is an initiative that looks to give funds to unique educational experiences that support students throughout the K-12 levels. The expenditures for the educational programs are usually paid for by the teachers themselves. Grants that are taken into consideration are for projects that add a layer of value to the students’ learning experience and also benefits both the school and the classroom.
On Thursday, December 7, a Surprise Patrol with the Chamber of Commerce set out to surprise each of the teachers with a surprise visit to their classrooms and a big check.
