duensingDorothy Lecuyer Duensing (Dottie), 67, went to be with the lord on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center after several years of declining health. She is leaving behind a host of family and friends who were blessed by her life and will cherish her memory. Dottie was born on May 22, 1949, in Kankakee, Illinois, the youngest daughter of Mr. Donald Leo Lecuyer and Ms. Rose Kalata Chipman. She was a graduate of Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, where she attended with her soon-to-be husband, Dale Lee Duensing. They married on April 15, 1972. This joyous union spanned more than forty-four years.
Dottie and Dale were blessed to have two wonderful children, Jennifer Duensing Coleman (Jen-ni) of Atlanta, Georgia and Scott Austin Duensing, of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dottie is survived by her loving husband, Dale; her daughter, Jenni, her son-in-law, Walton Coleman, and her grandchildren, Chandler and Henry; her son, Scott, his fiancée, Sarah Wynn; her sister, Pat Gross, and brother-in-law, Verle Gross; her sister, Joan Mear, and brother-in-law, Marvin Mear; her father-in-law, Albert Duensing; her brother-in-law, Larry Duensing; and nu-merous nieces and cousins. Her father, mother and mother-in-law predeceased her.
Dottie was a kind and gentle soul, but she was also a fighter who was never ready to give up. Dottie had a passion for playing tennis and for her family. She will be greatly missed by her fami-ly and many cherished friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dottie’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, P.O. Box 97075, Washington, D.C. 20090.
She was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 323 Hopkins Rd., Kernersville, NC where a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22nd at 12:00 p.m. The family will re-ceive friends following the service with a reception immediately after in the Fellowship Hall.
