The Forsyth County Department of Public Health has identified 42 new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus since Wednesday morning. The number of deaths in Forsyth County remains at five fatalities since the pandemic began.
Ten cases were reported on Thursday and then another 32 on Friday morning.
According to Forsyth County Public Health Director Joshua Swift, the origin of most of the overall 99 cases reported this week can be attributed to a poultry plant in Wilkes County which has employees who live in Forsyth County. For more, see the Saturday/Sunday, May 2 & 3, 2020 edition.
