Having moved to the U.S. from India when she was 11, Uttara Thanigaivasan was able to reconnect with her culture through dance. Now in her 20s, Thanigaivasan explained that she moved to the U.S. with her siblings and father from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, first living in California and Charlotte before moving to Kernersville last year.
