Belews Creek – Barry Jay Barber, Jr., 37, died early Sunday, September 4, 2016. Born on August 9, 1979 to Barry Jay Barber, Sr. and Rhonda Faye Kurth, Barry was born in Michigan and grew up in the small town of Whitmore Lake, Michigan. A roofer by trade, he worked for AAR Roofing after moving to North Carolina. Barry loved fishing, hunting, riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. However, it is the love for his two daughters that got him out of bed each day with a smile on his face. There was nothing he enjoyed more than entertaining his family with stories and keeping them on their toes with his comical pranks.
Surviving are his mother Rhonda Kurth (Michael); his father, Barry Barber, Sr.; his daughters, Cheyanne Marie and Addisyn Grace Barber; two sisters, Angela Wilson (Toney) and Linette Sarna; a step brother, Bradley Kurth (Pamela); a step sister, Michelle Strickland (Mark); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Barry was preceded in death by his step brother, Michael Kurth, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at First Christian Church in Kernersville with Dr. Pete Kunkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
