A Look Back at 2020

A Look Back at 2020

What a year 2020 has been! We’ve faced a pandemic, followed stay at home orders, shut down businesses, tested for COVID and much more. I hope there were a lot of lessons learned. Most importantly, to put others first and to appreciate what we have. I have learned how important friendships and hugs truly are! Our community came together in the most creative ways. We made sure our celebrations continued to happen by having drive by parades for birthdays, retirements and graduations. We supported local businesses by ordering take out, we helped our local nonprofits by donating and we blessed our neighbors by lending a hand. Our jobs made us all become a little more tech savvy when we had to participate in remote Zoom meetings to keep our jobs moving forward.
Kernersville is a very supportive community! We still need to uplift each other and we still need to support local. I am afraid we still have a way to go before we see the ending of this pandemic. If you are feeling down, depressed or alone please reach out! My number is always in this paper and I’m always here for You. You’re Not Alone in Kernersville! One of my favorite things at the end of 2020 was the spotlight of our town on the tv show Life in the Carolina’s. Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, Körner’s Folly, Kernersville Museum and the Blinkie lights were all part of the show. Kernersville Christmas lights were a highlight for me this year. I felt like they were prettier than ever before and we needed that light to help brighten our lives. You can view the show on YouTube.com under Life in the Carolina’s or through social media.
As with any new year, 2021 brings new hope! My hope is that the vaccine will help bring an end to the pandemic. We may not be able to go back to life as we knew it but, but with the things we have learned it can be the best year yet. It’s still very important to follow the three W’s, Wash, Wear and Wait. Finding ways to bring Joy and Gratitude in 2021 to yourself and to others is a great start to an exceptional year! 2021 Let’s Go!!
