Armed robberies

The Kernersville Police Department (KPD) said two armed robberies occurred at convenience stores in Kernersville on Thursday evening, September 22. The first reported robbery occurred at Quality Mart, located at 1580 Hwy 66. Officers responded to the store at 9:07 p.m. It was reported that a white male, 5’ 10” average build, wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses, khaki pants and dark shoes, entered the store with his face covered with a black bandana.
The second reported robbery occurred at Kangaroo Express, located at 2010 West Mountain St. Officers responded to the store at 11:48 p.m. It was reported that a white male, 5’6” and 6’ average build, wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses, khaki pants and dark shoes, entered the store with a dark bandana.
Police said the clerks at both stores told officers the suspect had a paper bag over his right hand and pointed his right hand at them in a manner as though he had a weapon. The suspect in each case reportedly fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of currency.
