Searcy

After a challenging battle with cancer, Shawn Tyrone Searcy died on July 12, 2016 in Palm Harbor, FL. He leaves behind his wife, Robyn Yates Searcy; her daughter, Courtney; and son, Brian.
Shawn was born on November 8, 1968 in New Brunswick, NJ to father Ted Searcy and mother Kathy Searcy. He grew up in a loving family with one sister and one brother. Shawn was a graduate of East Forsyth High School, Class of 1986.
Shawn married Robyn on June 26, 2011. Shawn and Robyn resided in Palm Harbor, FL along with Courtney and Brian.
Shawn was a driven entrepreneur who was always willing to help others. When diagnosed with melanoma cancer in late 2015, he remained dedicated in his work and in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, and iron-willed man, even throughout his final months.
Shawn is survived by his parents, Ted and Kathy Searcy; his wife Robyn Yates Searcy; their children Courtney and Brain; sister Joy Searcy; brother Theo Searcy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shawn requested to be cremated. His ashes will be buried at the family plot at Faith Bible Christian Church (aka Bethel Church), 800 Haw River Road, Oak Ridge, N.C.
A Memorial Service will be held at Piney Grove Methodist Church on September 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm. at Piney Grove Methodist Church, 1018 Piney Grove Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284; all are welcome.
