Kernersville- William Russell Shreve, Jr., 80, passed away February 3, 2019. He was born August 12, 1938 in Rockingham County to the late William Russell Shreve, Sr. and Lockie Crouse Shreve. Mr. Shreve retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of Kernersville Wesleyan Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Shreve; and two sisters, Betty Cooper, and Edna Sams. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Evelyn G. Shreve; sons, Kevin Russell Shreve (Donna) and William Keith Shreve; daughter, Allison Shreve Peters; five grandchildren, Kasie Marrufo, Leslie Wilson, Melanie Shreve, Zachary Shreve, and Laeo Peters; four great-grandchildren, Emery, Jordan, Logan, and Rykker; sisters, Mildred Shreve Johnson, and Carol Ann Shreve Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 with Rev. Don Martin and Rev. Scott Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Kernersville Wesleyan Church – Oasis Sr. Adult Ministry, 930 N.
