Rev. Roger Dale Pinnix, went home to be with his Lord February 23, 2020.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held 1:00PM Wednesday February 26, 2020 at Welcome Door Baptist Church where he pastored for 45 years. The services will be officiated by Pastor Brian Taylor, Rev. Richard DeHart, Rev. Randy Johnson, and Rev. Dale Bass. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will visit with friends from 11:00AM until 1:00PM Wednesday at the church.
A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, Roger was the son of the late Vinnie Branch Pinnix and Rev. Albert T. Pinnix. He graduated from Northwest Guilford High School Class of ’67, where he lettered in Baseball.
“Brother” Roger, as he was lovingly referred to by all who knew him, was a loving husband, father, and “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother Roger was the most kind hearted, humble, and even tempered gentleman. He was the most knowledgeable and passionate about his belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the King James Version, as anyone could be. He will be truly missed by all who loved, and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Carlotta Honaker Pinnix of the home; daughters, Lisa Chamelin and Kent of Kernersville, Sarah Martin and Shawn of Winston-Salem, and Rachel White and Tim of Climax; son, Roger Dale Pinnix, Jr. and Melissa of Clemmons; grandchildren, Brittany Pinnix, Megan Enscore and Daniel, Tevin Clayton, Tyler Pinnix, Ryan King and Nicole, Courtney Murray and Matthew, Kristan Clayton, Austin King, and Alex King; great-grandchildren, Braylee, Braison, Kaiden, Zohee, Shaylee, Kingsley, and Tate; brother, David T. Pinnix of Kernersville; and a host of extended family, church family and friends.
