The citizens of Kernersville received what has been described as a remarkable Christmas gift Friday from Scott Pope.
Pope, a local developer, donated 79.4 acres of park land to the Town to be named for his mother and father, Etta Lea and Lawrence Pope. The only other stipulation in the gift, in addition to it being named in honor of his parents, is that it be used exclusively as a park. For more, see the Saturday/Sunday, December 23 & 24, 2017 edition.
