Louis Laurent “Larry” Jennett, formerly of Westbrook, Connecticut, passed peacefully at home Tuesday August 6, 2019 following a long illness.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 10:00AM Friday August 9, 2019 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Israel Mora and Pastor Jeff Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery.
Larry was born in New Haven, Connecticut, August 19, 1932. He was the son of the late Louis and Georgina Lanteigne Jennett. Larry was the devoted husband of Valorie McEwen Jennett.
Survivors include his wife, Valorie of the home; children, John Jennett and wife, Lee Ann, Steven Jennett, Robert Jennett, Suzanne Jennett Mordecai, Kari Jennett Baker and husband, Rob, Colleen Jennett Oldham and husband, Ben, and Mark Jennett, seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; loving niece, Kathryn Moran and husband, Terry of Guilford, Connecticut; and best friends, Ron and Georgi Caminati of East Haddam, Connecticut.
Larry was a master craftsman, having worked in construction welding on Ohio-Class Submarines at Electric Boat, Groton, Connecticut. Later he joined Iron Workers 424 until their move to Kernersville, North Carolina, where he retired from Grass America.
Larry was a member of Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an avid fisherman, winning many trophies. He loved Duke Basketball and New York Yankees Baseball. Larry will be remembered by his dry, New England wit.
The family will greet friends Friday from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at the funeral home.
