Valerie J. Davant, age 63, passed away on May 24. Valerie was born and raised in California. She loved the ocean, spending time with her family and friends and her furbabies. Valerie’s smile and laughter were over contagious, and everyone who met her fell in love instantly.
She was a business woman and met our dad, Carter Davant, while working for the same compa-ny. They then moved to Miami, Florida where they started a family. Valerie and her children moved to Kernersville in June of 1996. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Coe and her husband Harold, of Kernersville; son Nicholas Davant and his wife Cierra, of Cumming, Geor-gia; five loving grandchildren, Hayley, Aidan and Amber Coe and Rydan and Emery Davant; and sisters Candi Hildman, of New Mexico, and Teri Riffle, of Texas. Valerie is preceded in death by Carter, her sister Bonnie Salonia and her niece Rochelle Winston. She was not only Mom to Margaret and Nicholas, but to all of their friends as well. She was everyone’s Mom/Grammy. The family would like to thank Jonathan, Shoka and April of Community Home Care and Hospice. The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
