She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her greatest joy. One of her favorite quotes was “Children are the Bridge to Heaven”. Our busy home was filled with love, laughter and creativity. Her love for needlework and crafts are displayed proudly in our homes.
Martha was a faithful member of Main Street United Methodist Church serving for many years in the nursery so young parents could attend worship. She was also very active in the United Methodist Women. Her love of her church was evident in her active participation in the youth programs. Martha was instrumental in the formative years of Camp Close Encounter serving alongside her husband Louie as a mentor and adult counselor. She also served as a role model to many young women throughout her numerous years of service to Kernersville Rainbow Assembly of which she was a Past Mother Advisor. She was an active member of Kernersville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star # 205 as long as her health permitted.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her devoted husband Louie D. Cooke, Sr. in 2001, and a brother Robert Ivey. With the devotion of her loving husband Louie they joined together two families and created one incredible legacy of which survives, a daughter Martha F.
