Advance – Don Murdock Berrier, 77, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017. Don was born on September 5, 1939 in Kernersville to Lewis Monroe and Mary Lou Murdock Berrier. He retired from the Kernersville Fire Department and owned and operated Berrier Auto Service. Don shared his interest and support of youth sports by coaching several youth teams in the community. He was also a founder of Kernersville Soccer Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Berrier, Jr., McCoy Berrier and Carson Berrier.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Thompson Berrier of the home; one son, Todd Berrier and wife, Ginger, of Clemmons; two daughters, Shannon Berrier of King, and Paula Correa and husband, Scott, of Clemmons; eight grandchildren, Leah, Hunter, Blaine, Gavin, Cooper, Emily, Morgan, and Spencer; two brothers, Tom Berrier of SC, and Jackson Berrier of Kernersville; two sisters, Louise Michael and Faith Kirkman, of Lexington.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Mitch Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel and other times at the home.
